Year 3/4 Week 7
Reading
Last week, we saw some incredible comprehension work and were delighted with the acting you did to bring the book’s words to life! This week, as we Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, it will become clear that Harry is not alone. As we finish reading the pages of Chapter 3 – The Letter from No One, we learn of Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon’s struggles to block post reaching Harry.
Continue to use your skim, scan and close reading skills to retrieve information and answer questions!

Words of the Week
This week’s words of the week all come from ‘The Letter from No One’ chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The words as you’ll find them in the text are listing, with the root words in brackets.
Can you identify them during your reading? Share the sentences you find them in, research their definitions and draw pictures/write sentences/use drama to show us that you’ve understood what they mean!
R.E.
This week, as we continue to consider the Gospel and what kind of world Jesus would want, we will read the Gospel according to Mark (1:40-44) – Jesus Heals a Man with Leprosy. This story shows that Jesus loved and cared for everyone, no matter what their circumstances were.
