The Academy at St James

Nursery and 2+ provision

Our nursery and 2+ provision is open Monday to Friday from 8:40am – 11:40am and 12:30pm – 3:30pm.  Parents can also pay extra to top up their child’s sessions to a full time place 8:40am – 3:15pm Monday to Friday.

Our Early Years curriculum is carefully planned to make sure that all children thrive and achieve. In our provision we will focus on the three prime areas. These areas are crucial for a child’s learning and development.

The three prime areas of development are:

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

We aim to support each child to identify their own sense of identity and self – worth, as well as focusing on each and every child’s individual needs and interests.  Good early years, education from a young age, can help to boost child development and that is why we are offering families a chance to get a head start for their children.

Our provision is open to all, we have a limited number of free early education places available.

Free early education places for 2 year old's

Free early education places for 3 to 4 year old's

Eligible children will be entitled to up to 15 hours per week free childcare.  Parents can pay for additional hours, at £18 per 3 hour session. You may be eligible to claim the ‘childcare’ element of Working Tax Credit, or your employer may provide a Childcare Voucher scheme to help you with the cost of your childcare fees.
