• Tuesday 9 July 2024 World of Work Day - 2024 Thank you to all our World of Work day visitors who have taken the time to come into school and tell us about some of the fascinating jobs in our local area. We've learnt about the different skills we need to be successful, why we need to work well as a team and why caring for our community is so important.
• Monday 1 July 2024 Bag2School 2024 Working hard to generate new ideas to re-cycle our lives, the eco-council have collaborated with Bag2School.
• Friday 28 June 2024 Youth Fest 2024 - Brass Band England Our brass band had the opportunity today to represent the whole of BDAT at Youth Fest. We travelled to Barnsley Civic Hall and had a blast, making us all very proud.
• Wednesday 26 June 2024 Sports Day - 2024 Wednesday 26th June was the most active day of our school calendar led by Mr. Wainman our PE lead.
• Tuesday 25 June 2024 Wellbeing Conference 2024 Our Well Being Ambassadors participated in a district wide conference at Immanual College, Bradford. They shared ideas, made new links and produced positive praise posters to be displayed within BDAT schools. We are extremely proud of them and the way they represented their school -The Academy at St James.

• Thursday 13 June 2024 Fathers Day Forest School 2024 Thank you to everyone who attended our Fathers Day Forest School morning. Dads, grandads, uncles, brothers and some mummies had the best time, den building, kite flying, s'more making, bug hunting and dream catcher making!

• Thursday 18 April 2024 RHS Level 4 Gardening Award We are delighted to announce that we been awarded the Level 4 RHS School Gardening Award!We received a Level 4 certificate to display, some seeds and also a £100 garden gift voucher.The RHS Campaign for school gardening inspires and supports schools to provide children with gardening opportunities to enhance their skills and boost their development. This is a valuable part of our Wellbeing curriculum.A huge ASJ thank you to Mrs Barker who has led on each of our gardening awards.
• Monday 18 March 2024 Reception class visit Windsor Court Reception have had another wonderful visit to Windsor Court today for some Easter fun! We love spending time with their residents and contributing to our local community. Thank you so much for setting up a fabulous egg hunt and for the children’s Easter bags!
