Welcome to Nursery
In school our class name is Mighty McMillian.
Please make sure that you have activated your account for Class Dojo (sent by email). This not only shows you how many points your child has collected throughout each day but also enables you to easily contact Miss Smith through its messaging service. Miss Smith will also be using Class Dojo to send home learning challenges and tips on how to support you child’s learning at home. If you have any issues with accessing your child’s account please speak to Miss Smith.
Every child in Nursery has a online Tapestry journal which you can access at home. This enables you to share your child’s Nursery experiences, have instant access to their next steps for learning and make your own contributions. This could be by sharing learning at home or leaving your child a comment on a observation that they has been completed at school. If you have any issues with accessing your child’s account please speak to Miss Smith.
In Nursery we are apart of the 50 Things project. Please send pictures via Class Dojo, Tapestry or Miss Smith’s work email address so that we can celebrate your child’s home learning at school.

- Please ensure that you write your child’s name clearly in each of their belongings. On the first day of Nursery there were lots of brand new jumpers with no names in which makes it extremely difficult to return to the correct owner.
- Please ensure your child bring a coat to school every day. In Nursery we have continuous access to outdoor provision which remains open whatever the weather.
- Please remember that shoes must be black school shoes and not trainers. Trousers must also be school trousers and not jogging style bottoms.
The children in Nursery will be going to the hall for a PE session each week. During this time the children will take off their shoes and socks and will be encouraged to do this with more independence. We would appreciate if you help your child to practise doing this at home.
Please will you ensure that your child’s coat has their name in it. Also, it would be appreciated if you could help your child to put on their own coat independently. Thank you!
Please bring your child’s bookbag to school every day. This week the children have started bringing home library books which will be changed regularly. These books are for you to share with your child. Children also make pictures and models for family members at home which will also be placed inside bookbags at the end of each school day.
