Dear Mums, Dads and Carers
Welcome back, we hope you had an amazing summer and had the chance to make some fantastic memories. This term our topic theme is ‘Little Explorers’ We will be using a beautifully illustrated book by Benjamin Flouw ‘The Mystery of The Golden Wonder Flower’ to inspire and guide our engaging curriculum. We will be spending a lot of time in the great outdoors learning about trees, flowers and plants as well as the creatures we share our environment with. We will be creating information points around our school grounds to inform others of the amazing plants and wildlife they can find and learning how to create maps.
Our Year 1/2 team this year are Mrs Gibbons, Miss Hudson and Miss Greenwood, supported by Mrs Riley and Mrs Spiers.
Now that your children have made the transition up into Year 1/2, there will be a lot of change in both the pace and the challenge of the work. Expectations will be much higher, and the children will be expected to complete more class work than last year.
The Gigantic Giraffes class are Mrs Gibbons’s class.
The Harmonious Hedgehogs are Miss Hudson’s class.
The Respectful Rabbits are Miss Greenwood’s Class.

This half term Year 1 and 2 have worked with Tony Bullock creating Christmas Art. We learnt a variety of skills including how to use a paintbrush to paint different size brush strokes. We used these skills to create a picture of a Christmas Tree. We also created a wax resist picture of a robin in a snow scene.
