Year 3/4 Week 4
Reading
We are going to continue reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone this week, starting with the last few pages of Chapter 1 – The Boy Who Lived. Use your skim, scan and close reading skills to answer questions, draw characters based on their descriptions and complete a range of activities.
Words of the Week
This week’s words of the week all come from ‘The Boy Who Lived’ chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Can you identify them during your reading? Share the sentences you find them in, research their definitions and draw pictures/write sentences/use drama to show us that you’ve understood what they mean!

This week, Year 3 are going to complete their learning on Measurements (starting with subtracting lengths), while Year 4 move on to Decimals (writing, comparing and ordering).
